Pentastar rattle

I have a 15 Jku willys with the 3.6L engine and manual trans. In the morning when I start it there is a rattle for 1 - 2 seconds until the oil is picked up and then all is quiet. Only does this after sitting for a few hours.
My wife has a 15 Dodge journey with the same engine and it does not do this. Yes the oil is full and clean only 1300 miles on the jeep. Should I be concerned or is this fairly normal.

Mine doesn't do this. I would attempt to isolate the noise origination, document it, and then bring it to a dealer OR fix it yourself if it's something really simple.

I plan on Making sure it is documented by the dealer when I go in for an oil change, was hoping that it was more common.

Most of the 3.6 cars I've heard sound like a sewing machine for like the first 2 seconds when they start for the first time in a while.

Hydraulic lifters. Wait till you see what it sounds like when you start it up after not running it for 6 months....

mine is 5 days old, haven't noticed it but I'll check in the morning. How cold is it in the mornings?

My '14 runs smooth and quiet from start up. However...I did notice my previous '12 had a little clatter.

Not cold, upstate new York, but in the garage maybe 50 degrees. Only makes the nois when it is first started for the day and after work.

My 2012 does it for 1-2 seconds when starting up in the morning.

I have a 14 with 11k miles. It does it too. I wouldn't be worried about it. This has been widely reported.

Some do it and other don't, so it's anybody's guess.....

It has been stated by several Forum Members, that running 5W-30 seem to help at start up!!!!!!!

Mine used to until I switched to Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30 synthetic. Now I don't hear it anymore. I was concerned about running it in the winter but even cold weather starts were quiet. I'm sold. I even put it in the truck on the last oil change.

my 2011 dodge caravan with the 3.6 did that. had it for 3.5 and 53 000km and no issues.

My 2014 jku is quiet after I did my own oil change and used 6L of quakerstate.

2015 Sahara. It rattles for a minute or so when it is cold. Not when I start it but when I put it in gear and start to drive.

Mine does it too for like 3 seconds on start up. I'm using the pennzoil platinum 5w20 too...

Mine is quiet, but it doesn't get too cold in the morning here in AZ.
