Jeep JK - Jeep ZJ - and a Ram

GREAT FREAKING JOB!

Really awesome!

I want to do one now :)
Good job, dad!
That's awesome
Here's a couple more pics, my oldest daughter (graduated high school last year) is driving another recycled vehicle. A dodge Ram with a hemi, front leveling kit, sound system, flowmaster super 10 dual exhaust, cowl hood, vanilla white with camo accents. The entire interior is camo including the dash, headliner, and seats. It's very loud, but it fits her... lol. Two different personalities, two different rides!

And my old standby, a '94 Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ -- V8, lift, lockers, and over 250,000 miles on original engine/drive train. Still wheels strong after all these years!

And, still one more daughter starting HS next year. She's already running ideas by me on kinds of cars. sigh.

Such a transformation...Great work!
Thanks!

The front bumper finally arrived, and so did my spare wheel. Both were painted yesterday.

After a few hours in a parking lot, and another couple hours on the streets and roads... I think she finally has the hang of driving a standard trans. I may have a hard time getting the keys long enough to get these couple of things installed on Monday.

I also ordered a used 130S RES head unit. Basically the same radio that is in there now with added Sirius. I'm still looking for a UConnect module for the bluetooth hands-free option to work. And still shopping around for a couple replacement speakers and a sub. Right now I'm leaning towards the Kicker VSS system made for the JK. I like how most things are hidden out of view, and keep the stock install look. I'm worried that if I replace the head unit with an aftermarket it will draw too much attention to those that want what they didn't pay for, and with a soft top that might be too tempting.

I'm not sure if this is an isolated issue on my end but I have the same head unit on my '15 JK and I had some audio issues with streaming Spotify via bluetooth. Every now and then it'll skip/mute for a second or two. But when it is hard wired with the iPhone cable it streams well.

The other thing to point out is if you push the steering wheel controls to skip next track, it seems to lock up after a while and I'll have to turn the head unit off and on again for it to free up. Again, not sure if it's an issue on my end only.

But hope it all works out for you!

I'll check it out, I had a similar issue with my personal truck, it has an aftermarket radio, but bluetooth wasn't 100% Running my android with a direct cable sounded and operated best.

Brought the jeep back in this morning to add the front bumper and rear spare.

Still looking for a few odds and ends. Should be done shortly.

One thing I am having trouble with is tracking down a random noise. While driving real slow, almost coasting speed, a sound like a dragging chain is heard from underneath. I put it on the lift and could not reproduce the noise. My theory is that it's coming from the rear driveshaft. When I tap near the rear of driveshaft I hear the same kind of noise. Seems like there might be something loose inside the driveshaft. Anyone ever hear of this?
