What is the best way to go about cleaning pads on my 90 YJ roll bar?

depending on what the material is made out of (i.e. black diamond, sailcloth, vinyl, etc.) go to your local auto parts store and find a cleaner made for that interior material. Then just either keep them on and wipe them all down, or take them off, hose it off so its clean of dirt and debris, and then wipe it down with a microfiber towel and your new cleaner. Should be nice and new looking when your done

Just got it and cleaning it up from PO. They are tan and have some kind of black grime on them. Looks kind of nasty.

sounds goofy, but try shampoo. works better than anything else I've tried on hats, and black stuff on the rollbar is probably from hands, similar to the buildup on my hat

409, or simple green will do pretty good as well if you just wanna try something you have around the house, or some diluted bleach, most of the black spots are probably mildew / mold related
