i switched at 3000 to Mobil1
+1. I'll also say that the Pentastar 'tick', while not exactly loud before seems almost non-existent post oil change to synthetic at 3K.

I'd rather fight than switch!

Actually, I do run synthetic in my diffs now...

1700 miles, second change. I always wait until 1500 miles:

Was advised to wait for after 3 changes by a fairly informed guy, let the standard oil work out the small particals & filings then it will be ready for Mobil 1 or your favorite brand.....The Amsoil is very good too.

Exactly. Except for the M1 which is garbage. Switching mine at 5k.

At how many miles was that?
Have you always changed to synthetic on the first change in your previous vehicles?
500
Yes

People will argue this way and that. This works in my experience. The first 500 cleans ass'y and break in crap most of the way out. I have built and broken in many, many engines. There are not many things more mind numbing than the endless back and forth of an oil brand/type/change interval/taste/feel/price/sexual orientation/religious affiliation argument.

Enjoy!

About 2500 miles, Mobil 1. I wouldve done it much sooner, but Im a driving enthusiast in general so the miles get away from me quickly.

Same here, sounds right. I was told 10K miles THEN switch to synthetic oil.

I went 3400 miles before my first change (going to get flamed for that :D) but I have not had any issues. No "tick" for me after my first change.
