I'm sure this has been talked about 1000's of times on here, but i'm new to all this, just bought my first wrangler... 06 wrangler x. So i want to lift it, primarily for looks, i will be using it on the highway 80% of the time, so i don't need some hardcore lift kit.
What i want is a 3" lift so i can put 33's on my jeep.. what would u guys reccomend?

i would like a suspension lift, as i will go trailing very lightly every now and then.. on the suspension kit, i'd like to stay under $700 or so. I like to travel and besides my bike, the Jeep is all i have. And i believe all Jeeps should be lifted, even if it's just for appearance purposes

Well I have the zone combo lift and I really like it and I got it for $560 with disconnects from baseline 4x4. After looking around as asking people so far old man emu is supposedly the best quality ride for street use.

i am very happy with the rubicon exrpess 3/4th) spacers. it actually firms up the susspension and got rid of alot of my pitching and rolling around turns. Its a DD with some weekend wheeling and i clear 32's with no issue what so ever, but i did before i put them on too, no rub with or with out on rocks even.

Small spacers alone aren't gonna do jack squat for ride or handling. That's just all in your head.

If I did mine again I would do a 2" coil lift with 1" body lift. Then no need to make any serious mechanical mods (I'm terrible with a wrench!). Think you could fit 33's with that set up and some nice steelies with 4" of back spacing. I think simple and not too high... I currently have a Zone 2" BB w/ quick discos up front and 31's. Like it a lot. Zone seems to offer inexpensive good stuff.

highway 80% of the time? if you drive 12,000 miles a year that 2,400 offroad miles. Just sayin.

For a good 3" lift i would get Rokmen arms, AEV springs, Bilstein shocks, and all the other stuff you need. (trackbars, driveshaft, bumpstops blah blah blah.) Would ride great on the highway and do well offroad.

I actually initially bought Teraflex 2" spacers and changed my mind last minute and went with OME 2" coils light duty, JKS 1.25" BL and Rancho adjustable 9000s. I am extremely happy with the highway ride quality, rode better than stock. Just FYI, I hated the ride quality of the Skyjacker Hydros 7000, very bouncy, little stiff on highway.

I always laugh when I see that. I drive mine at least 12k a year and probably put less than 10 total miles of trails on it a month. When you do slow, technical stuff it can take a full day or two to go that far. In terms of mileage, I'm on the road 99% of the time (60 miles a day will do that). If you wanted to use seat time as the unit, it'd be more like 50%.

these are all awesome suggestions, and i've been looking into the Zone lift, i'm pretty sure that is what i'm going to do since i haven't really heard anything bad about this product.. The 4.25" combo kit seems like a great deal, w 33" duratrac all-terrains. I will be getting the SYE as well.

I'm looking at the same thing. I'll complete the order today and sit around for the next 10 days waiting for it. I'm staioned in Germany and have about 20 miles on the autobahn to drive, so comfort and looks are really all this is about. But you're right-everyone I've talked to and the research shows this to be a solid, low-priced option. I can't wait!

Just keep in mind the SYE won't do you much (or really any) good without adjustable control arms, which aren't included with that lift. You probably already know that, but figured I'd mention it just in case you didn't.

Yeah, i didn't know that, i'm a complete beginner at all of this. I honestly haven't read to much on the SYE, from what i understood, i thought this was used my most to prevent vibrations that come w most lifts...
Dumb question, but how much would adjustable control arms benifit me for highway use??? I live in the desert, almost all flat ground here, so any off-roading my jeep will see will mostly be trailing, but like i mentioned before, my jeep won't see much of the dirt at all. I'm going to look into adjustable control arms, but if you could plz just give me a headstart and eplain the basics of their function, i would highly appriciate it :)

If all you want is to fit 33s under it for looks and highway use, go with 2" spacers and 1.25' body lift and 1" motor mount lift.

I was running that combo on this picture doing greens, blues, and purple trails at Rausch Creek. Bumpstopped properly, no rubbing.

Okay i read up on some adjustable control arms, and i definalty want to throw that in my budget, my question now is... which ones do i need?? I mean i seen front upper, front lower, rear upper, and rear lower. @ around $200-$250 a pair, thats a grip load of money :/

Look at the Rough country 2.5 x kit. It comes with everything but the body lift and motor mont lift. That's springs, shocks, adjustable upper and lower control arms for the front and back, front adjustable track bar, rear track bar relocation bracket, and sway bar quick disconnects. I also got the steering stabilizer. I didn't do the body lift as I am only running 31 inch tires.
