Hello.

Is there a good write-up in the internet where I can see how I have to install the "Flex-a-Lite Wrangler X-TREME Electric Fan" and what tools I need for that? Does that fan come with all parts that I need or do I have to buy some other parts?

How do I remove the stock Fan? Do I have to remove the stock fan clutch? Or does it stay like it is?

Does the manual fan switch come with this fan? I don´t think so..
What Kind of switch do I need?
How do I have to wire the switch up f I want to turn the fan off during water crossings?

I think i´ll have to connect the fan control modul to an A/C cable. Where ist this cable located?

Thanks for your answers..

Thanks!

The first one is what i wa looking for.

There´s only one question. How do I have to wire up a switch that turns the fan off during water crossings and a switch with that the fan runs all the time?

thanks.

the install manual says, that i have to use a diode protected switch, otherwise the control box could be damaged.
why that? i don´t see a reason why i shouldn´t use a normal switch instead of the flex-a-lite switch.

The package is still at the German customs. I´ll have it in 2-3 days.
I only have the online manual from Flex-a-Lite and that says that this switch is an option and doesn´t come with the kit.

Do you know if i can use a normal ON-OFf switch instead of the big Flex-a-Lite switch?

Did you really feel a HP increase?

you will notice a small increase yet I know of some people that didnt notice a power gain but they didnt pay any attention

I dont see why you have to use there switch
why cant you use your own switch

Basically the engine feels much more rev friendly and pulls harder in the higher rpms. Its not much however its noticeable especially when you have 3.73s and 35s :)

The fan is very quiet when on and also cools much better in traffic.

Can't you just use an: 0N*0FF*ON (3 position switch)?

It can be done the way you drawn it Nico. The switch in the first diagram is not a 3 position switch. Its a 2 position "normal operation" and a "constant on" bypass.

I know that the switch in teh first diagram is only a 2-way switch. that´s why i tried to add a 3-way switch to thediagram because i want to turn the fan off in water crossings.

will it really work on the way i added the switch to the diagram?
that would be perfect...!!!

One more question:

Is it right that I can remove the 2" radiator drop that I installed with the 2" bodylift?
Yes you can remove the radiator drop if you are doing away with the factory shroud. You may have to spin the upper hose a little but the shroud is the main reason for the rad drop in the first place.Well pretty much the only reason.

What are the benefits of this fan?

Less engine inertia > more rev friendly
Less load (especially in higher rpms) > freed up hp
Fan is not allways running (even at low speeds when the clutch is disengaged fan is still slowly running) > faster warmup (especially in winter)
Better cooling in the lower rpms since the fan allways gives lots of air flow and doesnt depend on engine speed.
At last your fan clutch eventually wears out and goes bad which costs more than the entire DIY electric fan setup.
Thats all i can think of for now.
