Did the flares today, an hour or two of time and about a can of RustOLeum Bedliner and it looks like a new Jeep!
Don't buy new. Rustolium Bedliner is my new friend.

Bgsdaddy & tbensor, your flares turned out great!! Does it seem to hold up well against tree limbs and bushes, etc. when off-roading? I'm wondering if anyone can report on the longer term durability of the Rustoleum bedliner since I don't believe its specifically designed for plastics...

Has anyone been able to find where to buy the Rustoleum textured for Plastics? (not the hammered). I have seen a few people here in the forum use this for the fender flares and the results are exactly what i'm looking for on my TJ, but no store in my area seems to carry it!!

Here is a picture of the label of the can of Rustoleum that i'm talking about. I would like to use this instead of the bedliner since this is made specifically to adhere to plastics.

LOWES sells it!

We don't have the bedliner for sale over here but the Rust-Oleum Textured Outdoor paint's finish looks identical to the bedliner so I would assume that they are the same thing. I have used both this and the textured for plastic. What I can tell you is that they look VERY similar. The plastic specific one is a little more matt than the outdoor textured paint. I have however not used the bedliner on plastic.

6rings, unfortunately the Lowes in my town does not sell it. I printed out the label I posted earlier in this thread and brought into the store with me and no luck. Maybe someone can buy a couple cans for me and mail em down here to Texas. I can pay you through PayPal! Seriously, I've been to Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe's, Southerland's, Shermin-Williams, a local paint supply store, Ace Hardware, and none of em carry it (down here) :banghead:

I think i'm going to contact Rustoleum and ask where they distribute the specialty textured for plastics product...

cool idea! :thumb: do you have any idea who sells it?
Autozone.
yep... Autozone.

This is a close up of it on my mirrors.

As I've preached on here before, the key to painting is in the prep.
Clean your surfaces with something like a paint prep cleaner, acetone or similar product to remove any oils from the surface. No sanding is needed as DBC bonds to plastic.
That stuff is almost dumb-ass proof too, it always seems to come out nice and smooth.

Another thumbs up for the Rustoleum bedliner here. :thumb: I did this last weekend, and used a little over a can and a half on the fender flares and license plate bracket (3 coats). I prepped by using soap/water and a 3m pad, followed by Rustoleum Wax and Tar remover, then 3 coats of Duplicolor Adhesion Promoter. I had never used a Duplicolor product before, and noticed their spray nozzle/button was much higher quality and easier to use than your typical rattle can nozzle.
