I want to replace my seat covers. I know the Bartact will probably last way longer than any of the neoprene options, but I don't feel like spending $500 on seat covers. I'm looking at either the Smittybily Neoprene, or the Quadratec Diver Down Neoprene. Either one would be black/red. Smittybuilt is $20 less for the set than Quadratec, but the Quadratec looks like a little nicer.

Any opinions?

Thanks,

Ian

I had Smittybilt before I got my Bartact. Had them for 9 months or so. No real issues. I treated them with UV protectant before installing and never noticed fading.

Be aware that the red is more burgundy. That's my biggest complaint. They didn't match my flame red at all.

I've still got them if you want them (2 door, no side air bags). Pay shipping and they're yours (including rear seat and console cover).

Thanks. Unfortunately, I have a 4 door with side airbags.

Curious though. Why switch to the Bartact if the Smittybilt were still good?

Because the red inserts didn't match at all.

I got samples from Bartact before ordering and ended up with black with gray inserts rather than red.

Much happier with the black/gray Bartacts.

Now that I think about it, the front covers are side airbag compliant.

Offer still stands, but you're on your own on rear seats.

Thanks, but I really want a matching set including the rears. Nice offer though.

I do not have experience with either one of those. I am a big fan of the Coverking Ballistic seat covers. I have them in both my 2012 JK and my wife's 2006 Jeep Commander. They are very durable, fit well, clean off easily and are affordable. I think I paid about $175 or so for front and back seat covers for my JK. They make them for the JKU as well and Qudratec sells them if you want to check them out.

If I was choosing between the two I'd go with the Diver Downs from Quadratec. I've heard the Smittybilt ones are kinda loose fitting. I have the Diver down covers and they look great. They are easy to clean and are of high quality, now I've only had them on for about six months but I haven't had any issues. Plus you can't beat the forum discount from quadratec on either brand. I think you would be very pleased with the Diver down covers but like I said , I've not had any experience with the smittybilt covers either.

How do you get the forum discount?

I will vote Diver Down. I have Bartacts, but a friend has Quadratec DD and they fit well and look nice.

I was also hesitant to spend so much for seat covers, but after seeing how bad neoprene looks when they start to fade I spent the extra. It hurt at the time, but I am long past that now.

I had the SB covers. Within a year they faded really bad and started to come apart. I would recommend anything over the SB covers.

Hi there,

I can definitely provide you with a discounted quote on either brand. For a discounted quote you can go about it 3 ways:

1) PM me with your first & last name, address, zip and the part numbers you would like to order. I'll reply back with a discounted quote if applicable. This takes 1-2 business days (or less) on average depending on PM volume.

2) E-mail my sales rep Rob at: RobW@quadratec.com Tell him you're a Forum user and would like a discounted quote. He'll get that going for you. He typically responds within hours if it's Mon-Fri 8am-5pm Eastern.

3) Call my sales line at 1-800-745-2348. Tell them you're a Forum user and would like to place an order with your Forum discount. Their hours are Mon-Thurs 8am-Midnight, Friday 8am-9pm, Saturday 9am-5pm.

Whichever you prefer works for us.

Thanks & have a great day!

I have the DD and they are wonderful. Even had a spill in them and they cleaned up to perfection and you cannot tell! Very robust and fit almost like a glove that was personalized.

That's my 2 cents!

I have the Diver Down covers and had an issue with one of the headrests. Quadratec sent me a whole box of seat covers and told me to pick out what I needed to fix the issue and send it back ( they also sent me a label). I have pics in my signature link, but I am happy with them so far. I put UV protectant on them.
