Cheers everyone,

I hope you guys can help me out a little bit.
I have a 2008 Wrangler Unlimited with the 3.8 V6 and the automatic transmission with very close to 90.000miles on the clock.
Went on holidays (a 800 miles road trip to Italy), and after the long journey, a strange squeak / tweeting has appeared.
Sounds like a bird chirping, but I really can't reproduce it.
I can only hear it when going slow. Over 20/30 mph and I cannot hear it.
It appears when turning and also when driving straight, I think it doesn't chirp when applying the brakes though, but it's hard to say.
At first I thought it might be the wheel bearing? But there's no humming or grinding noises when driving, I also felt at the wheels after driving, but both are equally warm.
What else might cause such a problem?
Thanks in advance!

Damnit, today on the Italian Autoroute it started squeaking heavily. Got to the nearest dealership but the mechanics were home already. So I'll have to wait until monday. Bit I'm still unsure what the cause might be. After an hour of not using the car the noise is gone. When hitting the brakes it's also gone. Sticky caliper? But both discs are equally looking, they got changed 2000 miles ago. Very strange!

You are right, but I think it is more likely to be coming from the rear. At least from the sound I'd say it's coming from the back...
Sorry I thought I read front for some reason, I actually replaced my rear axle bearing too, I bought ten factory chromoly axles with the bearings already pressed on, yeah they are lubricated from the diff fluid, u will have to cut or press the old bearing off and press the new one back on if u do just the bearing and seal! On mine it would squeak randomly like u described and also when hitting bumps but wouldn’t squeak when hitting the brakes

Yeah, with the roof/windows up I first thought it was coming from the front. But with the top down and in a tunnel it sounds very much like it was coming from the rear.
Hopefully the workshop in Italy can get it done. I watched a video of how it's done. Doesn't look to be too complicated, apart from the pressing part. Fingers crossed! Thanks for your help!

The car will now be brought back to Germany, so I can change the bearing myself. I do have a 12 ton press, are there any other special tools needed for pressing them on? Or can it be done with the old bearing to use for pressing the new one in?
