Just installed The Amp Power steps for my 2015 Rubicon.... Needed them for the Bride... They work great and I do not have to listen to her harp about how hard it is to get in and out. We are in our 60's so it is easier for me also.... I will not admit that to her.....
If any one wants to buy my Rock rails (unlimited) , Give me a shout out... only have 160 miles on them so they are like new.... also have the bolts...

Looking to get the AMP steps, who installed yours or did you do it yourself?

I looked at the amp steps but ended up with the Rock slide engineering step sliders. its a step and when closed doubles as a rock slider. any of the retractable steps are expensive but even thought I got mine used for $750 now that I have them I absolutely would have spent the 2k they cost new. and they drop down farther than any others I have seen...12". 4" lift and 35s with a vertically challenged wife and they are perfect.

Good price!
I think the amps tuck in a little nicer though. They don't mount to the side of the jeep the but rather UNDER and the step folds up into the lower crease along the bottom. The rock slides mount more to the side of the jeep and just drop down. Of course the rock sliders are much better protected when up. The amps will rip right off if I hit them with a rock.

I installed the AMP Power Steps on my '15 JKU, myself. There were some issues with getting the wiring right, but they have been a great & reliable product. The AMP folks were very, very helpful and free with advice during installation and since - if I have ever had questions.

BTW, my JKU has a 2 1/2" lift and I can stretch myself to a full 5' 5" of height, so the steps are much appreciated.

The only problem I had with wiring is when you take the doors off, the steps no longer work. So, instead of connecting the trigger wires to the doors, I connected them to the interior lights through a relay. This way the steps will continue to work even with the doors off (when you hit the unlock button on the remote, the interior lights come on, and the steps drop)

Mine connect that way because they are gen 1. The gen 2 does not connect to the side of the body..it uses the pinch seam underneath. Both also use the body mounts. The amps didnt seems like they would handle much off road abuse.....but hell I dont do much of that anyway.

I wired a switch in line with the sensor and it is kinda between the seat and rocker so we can put them up and down with doors off.
