Newbie here - after wanting a jeep for 20 years, finally just ordered my first. I ordered a 2013 unlimited sport - commando green. I wanted leather seats, but the dealer indicated that they aren't available as a factory option, but they could put katzskins on it. I was thinking I would get black leather to match the interior, but my wife was pushing for a brown/tan, because she is concerned about the black getting too hot in the sun. Any thoughts about which color will look the best?

I got factory black leather because I thought they looked really nice (they do), and now I'm looking at spending another $500 on covers so that I don't leave a layer of skin on them every time I get in on a sunny day.

Don't do it. Stick with cloth.

i would go with a nice tan/ brown...something lighter then darker..against the Green, it would be a nice match....

as for wether or not "it will look funny cuz the rest of the interior is black"..i don't think thats the case... if you are concerned find a Sahara, Rubicon, or MOAB on the lot with the Saddle Leather... they have tan seat with Black interior... they acually have some brown components in the interior too but IMO i wish they didn't, would look better without cuz the brown plastic looks kinda cheap, again IMO.
My wife's GC is White with Tan leather and black carpet and it looks SHARP !

Black Rubi with saddle tan leather interior here. Looks great, IMHO. I've got black leather in my Mazda6 which gets hot enough to cook an egg on during our Texas summers. I'll never get black leather again unless I'm living in Alaska

I say cloth....

I love tan interior (I have tan leather in my Sahara)...BUT...it won't look like a Rubi/Sahara with saddle leather, it will look like the Moab with saddle leather (which looks a little odd at times).
Here are pics of saddle in the Moab

The big difference is that the lower part of the Sahara/Rubi dash and doors are saddle as well. On the Moab, it is all black...only the seats are a different color.

Funny you said that, I got black leather and live in Alaska lol. I say get what ever color your accent is, if your accents are brown, get brown. If they are black then get black. Or pull a 10A and get red :p

Also another thing to think about, you dont have to get them to do the leather. You can take it to an upholstery shop and maybe get a custom color put on that would look good with the green. Maybe even get close to matching it. If you want leather that bad, otherwise get some Wet Okole seat covers or something to make it look nice. The cloth seats are pretty comfy.
