Suds in fun but kind of hectic and would be hard to park together unless everyone got there really early. maybe meet at a park in greenwood a little earlier then drive through Suds later as a "jeep herd"

I also like the idea of the cannonball run. Maybe hit a few sonics or hooters or something as a "jeep herd".

Would really like to be able to meet everyone and check out everyones jeeps and talk and get to know everyone...Not sure if a meet and greet first then plan a cruse or meet earlier in the day to hang out then cruse out.

Great suggestion.........I am just hoping we get at least a few peeps to follow through an we might actually have a shot at putting together a simple group. Not to jump ahead but my initial thoughts are to maybe push an informal email, to the list that will be collected by the end of the week, out with everyones contact info so peeps have others they can contact for jeep help or whatever. Then get the groups idea on monthly or bi monthly outings (simple meets, runs, camping trips, trail run meets, BBQ's, badlands run, or whatever) or something like that.

Nothing crazy just some basic organization to keep peeps informed of local jeep resources or whatever and organize times to get our jeeps out and have some fun with new friends. Kinda like a bowling league would work or something ya know? I am not from IN so meeting new folks would be good for me. Plus I would love having a contact list and a face to put with that contact of local jeepers that may be able to help me with jeep upgrades moving forward or at least someone to gets some ideas or bounce ideas off of.

Mine has 2" body lift with 32" tires. I am planing on maybe a new bumper and winch. Would be nice to have a CB for trail rides also. I feel ya about going on trail ride alone...would suck to be alone and something bad happen.
Nice Jeep DB love that color....Mine is kinda crazy looking but the jeep was in such good shape for the year i couldnt pass it up.

Got an early AM training session I have to be at tomorrow so signing off for now........get the word out to friends and I'll plan on having that email blast out at the end of the week deadline for peeps to send me their contact info.

Sounds great!!!
I think once people see we are at least trying to make something happen and meeting up they will join in.

Just FYI, I placed a call out/advertisement of our club development effort, like this one, on the IN locals board of this site in hopes to reach out to Indianapolis and surrounding area jeepers with hopes of getting some peeps on board.

Sent you my e-mail DB. I was looking for a "lift" for my hard top and saw a YouTube video for a DIY hoist made from 4 eye bolts and ratchet straps...mine cost $32 total, and I can have my top off in about 5 minutes.

Well I have gotten roughly 12 emails from peeps so far with an "active" interest in moving forward with a club! As stated before, come Friday I will create a list of the indiviudals who have reached out to me and send a group blast email with a couple suggestions to schedule our first meet and greet.

Once I have a reply from the group, on that blast, I will again send another blast that will clearly define what the group majority selected as our location and potential date/time for the meet and greet. The meet and greet will be an opportunity for all the memebers to put a face with a name and show off their jeeps.

During this time we can chat about how we want to move forward as a club, reviewing such topics as a club name, activity schedule and so on.....remember the idea here is to get peeps out and about with their jeeps. This means off-road, on-road and so on. Club activities will range from simple cruises, camping trips, and different levels off trail runs to local off road parks and so on. So long as we keep the club members envolved and not create activities that single owners out.

I hope to get a good mix of jeepers in the club so that we have a select number of folks that can be a good source of help for those who are still learning and or have not yet had the opportunity to enjoy their jeep off road on easy and mild trail runs.

I want to quickly address a few questions I have gotten from folks as the word of the club kick off spreads.

No- this will not be a fee based club. The concept, hands down, is to get peeps out with their jeeps! If for whatever reason the group wants to entertain some type of small annual fee for a specific and meaningful reason then obviously that will be considered and would have to be voted on and passed by the group. But I cant express enough that my goal here is to create a club that is made up of jeep enthusiast who enjoy getting together on some sort of repetitive basis through the year to get out and enjoy being a jeep owner in various forms........period!

No - a club name has not been selected yet.

These and other related topics will be covered during the first meet and greet. As stated before this is the time when members will get to meet one another and we will review and agree on these type of topics as a group

No - This is not just for hardcore jeepers. This club is for everyone (all levels of drivers and jeep types). The average member will more than likely have a jeep as their DD and activities will be planed with the consideration that not every jeeper wants to hit the trails or challenge the limits of their jeep. With this in mind I envision majority of the clubs planned activities being family driven and with the end goal of having fun with our jeeps and not just parked in a parking lot trading jeep stories. So this will range from fun trail runs, BBQ's, camping trips, cruises, meets at parks, car shows, and the list goes on and on and on.

No - Members wouldn't be required to wear a specific club t-shirt and or have a specific club sticker on their jeep or anything of this sort. Keep in mind the idea of a club isn't just to say your in a club but the opportunity to have a group of friends who share your love for jeeping and want to activity get out on a monthly or bi-monthly basis and enjoy owning a jeep!

However, I would hope to gain members who are motivated about being in an active club and not just meeting up once a year....that defeats the purpose! Look at it like a bowling league or something...lol

Hope this helps!

Additional note, if the group wants some sort of club sticker and or t-shirt for planned rides and activities then I will take care of those expenses and the associated legwork!

My wife is fairly handy with photoshop and various other adobe creative suite tools. I could probably harass her into designing something for us.
