Absolutely love this site and have been searching and reading tons but there is so much info out there it can get pretty confusing to say the least so I thought I would post...I apologize as I know there is a ton of "lift and tire" post on here already...lol.

I've got a 2013 JK and I've decided to go with the Rough Country 2.5" Series II Suspension Lift Kit and for tires I am thinking the Mickey Thompson ATZ P3 (305/65/17).

My question is...am I going to end up with that "pizza cutter" look with this setup? If so, could I install wheel spacers to push the wheels out a little to make it look better?

Anyone have pictures they could post of this set up so I can see what it looks like?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

No, that calcs to a 33x12x17, and you will look pretty wide with this setup. On stock rims, you will want at least 1.5" spacers or new rims with a 4" backspace, otherwise you will rub on the sway bar up front.

Since you are staying at 33", you might not need to lift.

I don't have pics at 305/65/17, but I was close to that at 305/70/17 (34x12x17). I have no lift but a fender trim instead. Your width of tire will be the same, and your tire-to-fender gap will probably look nearly equivalent if you stick with the 2.5" lift. EDIT: Also, all these pics are with Spidertrax 1.5" spacers. I still run them to this day, but I have upgraded to 35x12.5x17" tires when the ones pictured below wore out.

"Pizza cutter" really refers to the width of the tires....not how far the tires are pushed out.

A fender trim or replacement should be the first thing anyone does when getting larger tires. You can gain at least 2" of clearance without changing a darn thing mechanically. Wheel spacers are going to push the tire out and away from the frame rub potential. And I agree with all the above; 33x12 is far from pizza-cutter dimensions.

so the only way to avoid the rubbing with the stock wheels is to run spacers? What about a different size tire. Buddy of mine just got some sized 255/80/17
Those are the very definition of pizza cutters. They are the same width as stock only taller. They will fit on stock rims without spacers or a lift.

What's wrong with "the pizza cutter look"? It's the historical Jeep look
Pizza cutter's look wayyy better than fat tires, IMO.
I "think" the OP didn't quite understand what pizza cutters actually were (even if he does prefer the fat tire look).

You can have pizza cutters and a wide stance if you so choose. I actually prefer pizza cutters over wide tires myself, but to each their own.

That is why they make more than one size. No one person is the same.

For me the cutters made more sense. I drive a lot of miles but wanted a 33" tire. Wider and taller would have reduced my MPGs even more than going with a true cutter. My tires will be flush with my flares though, different rim, different offset.

I have a 13 JKUS and I have the 17 in black Moab wheels. What are the widest tires I can run on those wheels? I knkow I can go 285/70/17 but can I do wider with 1.5 spacers? I don't have a lift but may do a leveling kit. I don't want to go much taller just wider.
