The bracket itself bent . What are some other strategies? I tried channel locks, pipe wrench, hammer

it will bend you need two quality pair of channel locks or one quality channel locks and a quality vice grip. I have don probably 20 of these and just show it who's boss.

I’ll pick up some heavier duty channel locks this evening and give it another go. You think stock brake lines are alright with the RK2.5 if routed appropriately?

Thanks.

on newer wranglers the factory brake lines are longer than the brake lines that come with the metal cloak 3.5" game changer lift. We installed the mc on my buddy's rig and compared the oem brake lines on his 2016 and they were slightly longer than the brake lines that came with the kit. I have used this method on a RK 3.5" with long shocks with no issues.

use one set of channel locks or vise grips to hold the flat portion and pry with the other set on the curved portion that is surrounding the brake line.

Do you grip the small rounded part and bend back the back part of the bracket, or, grip the back part of the bracket and try to get a grip on the round part? Last night I was concerned of crimping the bracket on the hose and making it worse. I couldn’t seem to get my channel locks to grip.

both hold the flat back part and the round part and pry them apart opening up the gap. get the lip of the channel locks in the gap being careful not to pinch the brake hose.

Great. Will do. During all of this I almost went ahead and swapped out the lines just to be rid of if. I took a 12mm to the hard brake line upper bracket and began loosening it. Less than an oz. of brake fluid leaked out before I changed my mind and retightened it. What do you think are the chances air got in and now I need to bleed the system?
