^^^This.
I've tried a lot of the different recommended products and this worked the best for me and cost the least.
ALL the recommended products will look great when 1st put on. What nobody tells you with their recommendations are the negative aspects....ie doesn't last very long, very shiney, sticky touch, flakes off...etc, etc.
In regards to Forever Black, I would skip it. I've tried it.
With my experience with it, here's what's wrong with it.
1. It's difficult to put on. You really need to tape up all the surrounding painted areas, since it's a black dye.
2. After it's been put on, it looks great. It's kind of like a paint but what happens just like paint, is that it does not adhere well to the plastic and starts to flake off over time. So what you will start seeing about 4-6 months later is the grey faded plastic underneath, with a bunch of spotty paint on top of it, which just looks awful.
I learned from experience, and will never use Forever Black on my plastic trim pieces ever again. It took me a lot of effort to get the remaining flakes off.
I now use the Penetrol, and it has been great on ease of applying it, looks (not overly shiney, just looks like new OEM black), and seems to stand the test of time as well.
