I think it's a pretty well established fact that an intake mod on a Wrangler is a complete waste of money. The factory airbox is not restrictive at all and if you look at the dyno charts of a Jeep with an intake the gains are virtually non-existent until about 5,000 rpms which you will hardly ever get to. They do offer good improvements on other vehicles, just not on ours. Save your money and just get a normal filter and keep replacing it regularly.

Neither. It will not help with power or mileage.
 
A great deal of information on this subject can be found by using the search feature on this and other forums. Some very experienced offroaders have expressed very strong personal opinions based upon their history. Almost all basically agreeing with post #3, #4, and #7 above.
