I've had my top down for weeks now and it rained for the first time the other day. I was stubborn and put my Jeep under my building, instead of just putting the top up. :nonono:

The next morning I got in my Jeep and it was like an infestation of gnats and other nasty stuff. I'm assuming the humidity forced them to take refuge in my Jeep. I felt like I was in the jungle, they were swarming all around me the second I sat down. :hide:

I took off, thinking they'll blow away once I hit around 50mph. Nothing. It was literally an infestation, and they weren't going out without a fight. It ruined my day. My friend wouldnt even step foot in my Jeep. I had to keep swatting them out of my face.

In the fall, North Florida has a really bad love-bug infestation. I would really hate to have to put the top up in the nice Fall weather. :(

I haven't had the top or doors on my jeep for two years now. Rip the carpet out. Ad some drain holes. Pull your seats out and apply some do it yourself bed liner. Costs about. $80.
how is any of that that going to prevent wasps and gnats from building a nest in my dash?

Plus this is my daily driver, I need the seats. lol

Whenever I leave it overnight topless, I spray the front and rear seats, all around the roll bar and above the windshield with insect repellent. Keeps most of the spiders/bugs out

Gnats live in moist areas. Don't think they would build a nest in your dash. And wasps build the nest on permanent locations, so if you drive it daily this shouldn't be a problem. I could be wrong but I have never had a wasp build a nest in my jeep. Pulling your carpet will remove the breeding ground for gnats. You were looking for something cheap. So there you go. Cheaper is put you top back on.

By the time you spend money on daily sprayings of bug stuff you could have a trail cover.
