Ok. I've got a chance to pick up a set of bilstein resi shocks for dirt. Only thing is they are for a tj running and I've got a 12 jk.
now from my research I've found that stock jk shocks are 3" longer give or take a little. and people are putting rubi shocks on tjs that have around 3 inches of lift and they're working just fine. With a bit of modification to the front lower mount that is.

Now I have a chance to pick up a set of bilstein resi shocks for dirt. They are for a 6 " lift and i intend to run 3.5 so with the fact that jk shocks are already 3 inches longer will I be able to get away with running them? Or am I better off just letting these go? I know that I'll have to modify where they mount but that's not beyond my skills.

I looks like the math is right. The only way to tell if they'll fit 100% is to cycle your suspension and measure it compared to the compress and extended length of the shocks.

If they physically fit, I don't know how the ride would be. If they're valved specifically for a TJ the weight difference to the JK may cause a soft and spongy ride or premature fading. Maybe someone else can jump in with experience.

I know. No matter how I've wonder it i haven't found any threads about tj to jk I've found plenty of hits for jk to tj. I hadn't thought about the extra weight of the jk. That might just put a damper on things
