Recently I was at Liggett in the US Army and we had these very cool Motorola radios that we used from hmmv to hmmv and it was perfect so I bought something similar the Midland hand held CB 775 and mainly its for keeping contact with club members while trail riding

And yes it came with 2 battery packs for remote communication which is another reason why I went with that one but did I get all the antenna stuff right?

I have almost the same setup. Everyone told me not to get the midland 75 because its a handheld and handhelds are crappy and don't work well bla bla bla. I got it anyway just to try it for myself (not to mention I had 90 days to test and return it for a cobra 75). I am more than pleased with it. No mounted box that takes up space. No wiring to the battery. I can take it handheld when I get out the Jeep to recover/get recovered. And I can remove it completely if I want, whenever I'm topless or doorless or I'm not using it or all of the above. Its plenty loud. Only thing is I haven't found a great way to mount it yet (not that I've spent much time trying though). Originally I had it stuck to my dash with some velcro tape, but S. Florida gets so damn hot that it melted the tape within a week. So its usually just sitting on my lap the whole time I'm out on a trail. The most important part of your setup though is the antenna. A radio is a radio, they all do the same thing. The antenna configuration is the most important part. Get a reputable brand e.g. Firestik, Wilson, etc.. 4' at LEAST. Make sure you have a good ground, and DEFINITELY make sure you have it tuned correctly. It can make all the difference in reception when you're in the boondocks.
